here is one idea for the layout of the more metaphorical approach. I plan on implementing my old work as well as work from this year to show my growth as an artist, with my old work being blended with my house and my new work being blended with my new apartment.

New Ideas

My last iteration was too literal and therefore boring. For my next iteration I am thinking of using more metaphorical images and destroying the images of my house/the cottages of Boone. I want to incorporate some artwork from both Forsyth tech and ASU as well to make it more personal.

Images for Project 5

these are some of the photos that I am considering using in my project as they all relate to my first year here at Appalachian State.
This is my first attempt at tying several of my images together, but I do not think it is as effective as I want it to be. The landscape is more bland than I thought it would be, so I am thinking of revising the layout as to make it more interesting and to avoid having so much "blank" space.

Initial photo, 4-19

Initial process, planning on using this photo from my apartment window to assist with the layering process.

This is the final product. It features the cyclical controller design and the cyclical advertisement design from my process work, but also features another cycle in the form of the items scattered on the floor. Each is a different iteration of the same Nintendo franchise amongst different consoles they had released. I also added a crt filter to the whole image just to make it more interesting.

Style Demonstration

This image serves as a proof of concept for my idea of the style for my final. I really like the look the poster filter gave the TV itself, and my use of the pixel filter and my progressive scan line document make a convincing image on the television itself.

Progressive Scan Layer

This image I made real quickly will allow me to create an effect similar to that of a progressive scan line on a CRT type television if I place it on a top layer and use blending modes.

Process 3-20-19

This composition of the design similarities between the Switch and Wii U works much better than the last, and the filter applied will allow me to experiment with placing it into the CRT TV to make it look like some sort of advertisement. The advertisement will help emphasize my idea of cycle, as I am relating it to the life cycle of a particular system+its accessories.

Process 3-18-19

Here is an image that I tried to compose, but am currently unhappy with. I like the idea, but the execution is unsatisfactory. Further revision is likely necessary.

Process work Project 3

The idea here is to combine elements of controllers from different families of products to highlight the design similarities between them. Heavy emphasis on the recycling of ideas. This composition contains design elements from the NES, Wii, and N64 consoles.
